How to Find Godly Counsel and Test All Things

"It's one thing to ask for a sign because you don't want to do what God is asking you to do. And quite another to ask for a sign to help you discern because you simply don't know what to do."

// Excerpt from Episode 27, How to Find Godly Counsel and Test All Things

Do you wonder how to make God-honoring decisions, but sometimes don't know what to do or which way to go?

Perhaps it's time to seek Godly counsel for discernment and confirmation.

But how do you do that?

This week's episode addresses that very thing!

One key is to check your motive when requesting extra confirmation. Is it for true help or because you're avoiding doing what you already know to do?

There's no shame in that game.

My flesh resists the Spirit more times than I care to admit. However, I do believe it's important to address these real concerns with other, trusted confidants.

Listen in as I share how you can find godly counsel and test all things (1 Thess 5:21).

Don't just look for someone who tells you what you want to hear. Someone who will placate you because they are afraid to tell you the truth.

Look for someone who will tell you share Godly wisdom in grace and love.

Oh, you'll hear my thoughts on church in this one too. ;)

Questions to process with a friend in this week's episode:

  • Do you feel connected in a healthy church right now? If yes, celebrate! If no, why not?
  • What do you need in order to get connected?
  • Are you asking for a sign because the word from God feels hard? Or are you asking for a sign for confirmation because you truly don’t know what to do.
  • Who is someone you could talk to right now for Godly counsel?

I hurt in places I didn't know existed, but it was an amazing event! Click here to see photos and read about 7 things I learned from this experience that might challenge and inspire you too... ;)
