What's the Deal with Fasting? Who Should Do it and Why

“Your only WHY can be – because the Holy Spirit told me to. Your YES will bring forth fruit.”

-Excerpt from Episode 80, The Power of Fasting – Who Should Do it, Why, and How with Pastor Leah Moore

Fasting is one of those spiritual disciplines that often feels confusing and, let’s be honest, hard to do!

But God is always calling us higher.

And that includes incorporating God-honoring practices to grow in intimacy with Him. When you feel an awakening and desire to mature in the things of the Spirit you have to lean into that!

And yes, that includes trying new things - especially if Jesus said to do it.

When I got a note from a listener asking me to an episode on the practice of fasting, I knew exactly who to invite to teach us about this powerful experience!

Leah M Moore is a devoted wife and loving mother to five amazing children. She is also an ordained pastor, writer, role model, speaker (nationally and internationally), mentor, prayer strategist, former talk show host and podcaster. She is the Founder of Grace Promises Women’s Ministry. A ministry that empowers women to walk in God’s power, passion, and purpose with Grace!

"I had permission to evolve. It’s something God wanted me to do. The enemy wants to camp in familiar spaces and places, but God is always calling us to more."

// Leah

xoxo - Megan

PS - On a personal note, my baby (fourth and final) is a SENIOR!!! What in the actual world? Lots of feelings. Lots of deep conversations about what is next. (Not an easy subject to tackle.) But I am so thankful we get to parent this beautiful girl. She has lots of good things ahead, I'm sure! Click here if you want to see a few of her GORGEOUS senior photos!
